The SERVOSTAR-603-AS-BV is a digital servo amplifier produced by Kollmorgen within the S600 Servo Drives series. Designed for panel mounting, it interfaces with motion controllers to energize brushless servomotors and provide precise velocity and position regulation for industrial robots, conveyors, and pick-and-place gantries. By integrating internal braking and safety circuits, the drive supports controlled deceleration and connection to machine safety relays.

It offers 2 analog setpoint inputs that accept ±10 V commands for speed or torque, while four controller terminals provide the AS connector interface for field wiring. The safety relay is energized by a dedicated 24 VDC line, and the control electronics use the same auxiliary supply so logic remains active during power isolation. Continuous operation is supported by a rated phase current of 3 A RMS, yet the inverter can deliver up to 6 A RMS for rapid acceleration bursts. Current regulation uses a 20 kΩ input resistance, which minimizes loading on external sources. A residual voltage drop of 5 V appears across the power stage during conduction, and the 70 mm width helps maintain high cabinet packing density without exceeding typical airflow clearances.
