The S64001-EC is an S600 servo drive produced by Kollmorgen for the S600 Servo Drives series. It is intended to regulate three-phase motors in machinery by modulating voltage and current according to motion commands issued over fieldbus or analog channels. In an industrial automation cell, the unit fits inside a control cabinet and forms the power and feedback interface between the central PLC and rotary or linear servo actuators. This arrangement allows the controller to manage axis response directly at the drive while keeping motor power conversion inside the cabinet.

Operating from a three-phase supply of 230 to 480 V, the drive’s power stage is rated for a continuous output of 40 A rms while accepting momentary demands up to 80 A during acceleration or disturbance rejection. The switching elements are updated by an 8 kHz power stage clock, which lowers current ripple and improves servo stiffness. Control electronics are powered by a separate 24 VDC auxiliary line that can deliver 5 A when an integrated motor brake is engaged. Four digital inputs and two digital outputs allow local sequencing, and real-time communication is provided through an EtherCAT expansion module with two RJ-45 ports for daisy-chain topology. The AS electrical option included in this variant limits residual voltage drop to 5 V across the power stage, which helps return dynamic braking energy efficiently. Physical dimensions favor multi-axis racks: the unit is 250 mm wide, weighs 19.5 kg, and occupies minimal depth when panel-mounted.
