The S62000-550 is a maintenance-free synchronous motor controller from Kollmorgen; it is a compact design that can be used in industrial, commercial and even residential applications. Upon installation, this product provides reliable closed-loop control of the torque, speed, and position of the connected motors. The drive controller requires a direct connection to symmetrically earthed, three-phase industrial mains supply networks such as the TN and TT systems. Unlike most servo control devices, the S62000-550 does not feature any safety function; also, the integration of the drive controller to a safety function according to EN 13849 or EN 62061 is not allowed. Safe Torque Off (STO) can only be guaranteed by the disconnection of the power supplied to the machine. Depending on the configuration determined by the operator, the drive connected to this product might restart automatically when it is powered on after a voltage dip or interruption in the supply voltage. To prevent accidents, an appropriate warning should be attached to the driver.
The operation of the S62000-550 servo drive controller outside industrial environments requires additional filter measures to prevent electrical interference.
