The S61400-NA is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen within the S600 Servo Drives series. It interfaces between a motion controller and a three-phase AC motor to meter power, enforce current limits, and execute braking routines required in automated machinery and material-handling cells. This arrangement lets the drive regulate motor response during acceleration, steady running, and deceleration during normal axis operation.

The power stage accepts line supplies from 230–480 V AC and delivers a continuous phase current of 14 A rms. Output ripple is limited by a form factor of 1.01, keeping motor heating predictable when the drive operates with load inductances from 2.5 mH to 15 mH. The analog input resistance to ground is 20 kΩ, which helps limit leakage to upstream control electronics. The S1 installed load reaches 10 kVA for medium-inertia servo axes. Quiescent dissipation is 15 W at idle, the internal power devices have a residual voltage drop of 5 V, and the housing width is 100 mm for side-by-side mounting in standard 300 mm deep enclosures. The unit is supplied without an expansion module, so all field wiring terminates on the base drive.

Continuous conduction at rated current produces 160 W of loss that must be removed by cabinet ventilation. Excess kinetic energy is first handled by an onboard brake transistor rated at 200 W, and heavier regenerative duty can use an external dump resistor of 33 Ω. The auxiliary 24 VDC logic rail draws 3 A when a motor brake is engaged, so control functions remain active when mains power is removed. A residual output current path keeps the drive responsive during coast-down, and the maximum load inductance limit helps prevent overvoltage during regeneration. The overall mass of 5 kg supports mounting on DIN rails or panel plates without additional reinforcement.
