The S60600-PB is a servo drive produced by Kollmorgen within the S600 Servo Drives series. It serves as the power and control stage between a three-phase supply and a matched servomotor, shaping current and voltage so the axis follows velocity or position commands issued by a PLC or motion controller. Used in packaging, material-handling, and processing lines, the drive adjusts motor torque in real time to support accurate, repeatable industrial automation. Because it regulates current directly, the drive can maintain stable motor response during starts, stops, and short positioning moves.

The input section accepts a line range of 230–480 V. The output can deliver a continuous phase current of 6 A rms, and the 1.01 current form factor indicates low distortion. An analog command channel refreshes every 62.5 µs, and its 20 kΩ input resistance helps limit source loading from a voltage reference. Fieldbus connectivity is provided through the PROFIBUS expansion module, and two 9-pin Sub-D ports allow daisy-chaining to neighboring nodes. Internally, the unit drops only 5 V, and residual energy is dissipated by a 33 Ω brake resistor. The installed capacity is rated at 4 kVA, which suits medium-power single-axis stations.

During deceleration, the built-in brake chopper diverts up to 200 W into the internal resistor, so external dumping hardware is unnecessary. The drive supports motor inductances up to 40 mH, giving flexibility when it is paired with different winding codes, and the lower end of the supported range is 7.5 mH. Base thermal loading is held to 15 W, while total heat rises to 60 W at nominal output. Heat from braking and normal operation remains inside the cabinet rather than moving to external dumping hardware. Compact panels can manage the drive with planned airflow paths during repeated acceleration and braking cycles.
