The S60301-SE is a servo drive produced by Kollmorgen for the S600 Servo Drives series. As a digital amplifier, it interfaces between a motion controller and three-phase motors. The drive shapes line power into controlled armature current so that industrial axes can follow position, velocity, or torque commands with precision.
The analog front end accepts velocity or torque commands through a network with an input resistance of 20 kΩ, and its 1.25 mV conversion step supports fine-tuning of low-level references. Feedback or diagnostic data leave the unit through an output channel with 10-bit resolution, which is adequate for coarse oscilloscope capture during setup. Continuous motor excitation is limited to 3 A RMS, while the thermal design permits a rated dissipation of 40 W at that load. The current form factor is 1.01, indicating that the synthesized waveform is nearly sinusoidal and keeps motor heating proportional to the RMS value. Internal energy from decelerating loads is first absorbed by a 66 Ω brake resistor, and an external 33 Ω element can be added when additional braking power is required. The drive recognizes an AS option board that routes analog setpoints to the DSP alongside the SERCOS expansion module used for cyclic position control.
During acceleration bursts, the inverter can deliver 6 A RMS for short intervals without violating semiconductor limits.
