Product Description:
The Kollmorgen’s S60301-PB servo drive is designed for three-phase systems and it uses 3 × 230–480 V AC voltage. It gives a rated normal current of 3 Arms at the output terminal while its peak manageable load current can go up to 8 A. This drive includes a PROFIBUS DP line interface for communications and it follow safety rules.
The S60301-PB servo drive features 40 W of dissipation at the rated current and it is built for 50/60 Hz frequencies for global compatibility. Its brake control uses relay contacts for control and the drive inputs/outputs meets the requirements of IEC 61131 standard with 10% tolerance range. There are optical isolation barriers for both inputs and outputs to ensure the system is protected and the electric supply is isolated from the main power line. The S60301 servo drive’s auxiliary power supply is 24 VDC, plus or minus 10% and has a maximum value of 500 mA for control logic. It supports a wide range of feedback devices that includes resolver, EnDat encoders, BiSS, Hiperface, Incremental and SSI forms of feedback. This drive uses connectors of sub-D type for simple and fast connectivity. The S60301 servo drive has dimensions of 265 mm length x 70 mm width x 275 mm height and it provides a single-axis mounting style while it carries a weight of 4 kg.
The S60301-PB S600 servo drive offers 8 kHz of clock frequency at the output stage and this frequency can be as high as 16 kHz for a maximum VDC of 400V. Its ambient operating temperature range is 32 to 113°F with 85% relative humidity, non-condensing and comes with an IP20 protection class. The S60301 servo drive is programmable via RS232 interface.
Frequently Asked Questions about S60301-PB:
Q: Why does the S60301-PB include optical isolation for I/O?
A: Optical isolation ensures signal integrity by preventing electrical noise and surges from affecting control signals. It increases safety and durability in electrically noisy environments.
Q: How does relay-controlled braking benefit the S60301-PB servo drive?
A: Relay contact braking enables precise stop functionality and mechanical safety in emergency scenarios. It offers robust integration with machine safety protocols.
Q: Why is an 8 kHz output stage useful in the S60301-PB?
A: A higher clock frequency like 8 kHz reduces torque ripple and improves motor responsiveness. It allows for smoother and more precise motion control.
Q: What is the advantage of using sub-D connectors in the S60301-PB servo drive?
A: Sub-D connectors simplify wiring and reduce setup time. They also offer secure locking mechanisms to prevent connection faults in high-vibration environments.
Q: How does supporting multiple feedback devices enhance S60301-PB’s performance?
A: It allows the servo drive to interface with various motor types and encoder systems. This flexibility ensures better compatibility across automation systems.
