Internal Product Review
The S60301-560 is a Kollmorgen S600 servo drive with a 3 A rms current rating and 230 to 480 V input support. Low 40 W dissipation at rated current and a 2 kVA installed load make this unit a very capable choice for efficient servo control.

Product Description:
Kollmorgen produces the S60301-560 AC servo drive as part of the S600 Servo Drives series. This unit interfaces between a motion controller and a matched servo motor. It regulates phase current and bus voltage so that axis position, speed, or torque follow the commanded profile in industrial automation lines such as packaging or material handling.
The drive accepts a three-phase supply in the range of 230...480 V, letting a single model cover both standard low- and medium-voltage factory mains. Its continuous output capability is 3 A rms, a value that matches medium-frame synchronous motors while keeping transistor stress within the air-cooled housing. Kollmorgen specifies a permissible load inductance window from 12 mH to 75 mH; staying inside this range helps current regulation loops remain stable and keeps switching losses predictable. When operating at the rated current, the power stage dissipates 40 W, and that heat must be removed by cabinet airflow to avoid thermal derating. The resulting output current form factor of 1.01 keeps RMS and average currents almost identical, minimizing copper losses.
Control electronics and braking circuitry are powered from an isolated logic rail of 24 VDC. Under idle conditions, the control section draws 1 A, while an integrated brake relay can momentarily demand 3 A when it releases or sets a motor-mounted holding brake. For cabinet power budgeting, the converter presents a 2 kVA installed load, a figure that includes internal capacitance charging and dynamic motor energy return. Outside electrical performance, the enclosure measures 70 mm wide, 275 mm high, and 265 mm deep, enabling dense multi-axis mounting without exceeding a 300 mm cabinet depth. Quiescent dissipation is 15 W, and the residual DC bus drop of 5 V preserves most regenerated energy for adjacent axes.
