The S60100-NA is a servo drive produced by Kollmorgen as part of the S600 Servo Drives series. As a drive controller, it supplies regulated current to a matched motor while exchanging status and command data with higher-level motion controllers. By managing acceleration, velocity, and holding torque electronically, the device replaces mechanical speed-control methods in assembly machines, conveyors, and other automated stations. This supports accurate motor response during repeated starts, stops, and speed changes.

The drive accepts mains supplies between 230 to 480 V and draws a continuous phase current of 1 A rms. Under these conditions, its apparent power requirement is 1 kVA, which helps size upstream protection and supply capacity. Servo-loop power losses are limited, with active operation generating 30 W of heat, so cabinet ventilation can remain modest in typical control panels. Communication follows the CANopen protocol at a network speed of 500 kBaud, giving deterministic message timing for synchronized multi-axis systems. The analog command port presents 20 kΩ of impedance, which minimizes loading on connected signal sources. Voltage drop across the power stage remains low, preserving margin for motor back EMF during commanded motion. The platform does not support an expansion module, so the hardware layout remains fixed.

Mechanically, the housing measures 70 mm wide, 265 mm deep, and 275 mm high without connectors, and it weighs 4 kg, so multiple units can mount side by side in shallow enclosures. The power stage will tolerate motor windings between 25 mH and 150 mH, which helps maintain stable current behavior with compatible motors. For dynamic braking, an internal resistor of 66 Ω is fitted, eliminating the need for external dump hardware during routine decelerations. During standby, the drive releases only 15 W as heat, which helps limit cabinet temperature rise while axes wait for commands.
