Product Description:
The S60100-EI is a digital servo drive produced by Kollmorgen and delivered as part of the S600 Servo Drives series. Intended for industrial automation, the unit supplies regulated three-phase power to synchronous or induction motors and executes position, speed, and torque commands issued by a motion controller. By converting the plant’s supply voltage into a controlled output, the drive closes the power stage of a servo axis and enables precise motion in packaging machinery, material handling lines, and similar equipment.
Electrically, the drive accepts a mains range from 230–480 V and delivers a continuous phase current of 1 A rms while supporting momentary peaks up to 3 A rms for acceleration events. An output current form factor of 1.01 keeps the RMS-to-average ratio nearly sinusoidal, limiting additional thermal stress on connected motors. At full load, the power stage dissipates 30 W, whereas internal quiescent losses are capped at 15 W when the axis is idle. A residual voltage drop of 5 V is present between the DC link and the motor terminals. The auxiliary 24 V bus draws 3 A when a holding brake is engaged and 1 A when no brake is fitted, ensuring the control electronics remain powered.
The drive’s control logic and I/O are served by an auxiliary supply of 24 VDC. Overall input burden on the installation is limited to 1 kVA, a figure that helps with cabinet fuse and contactor sizing. The power stage tolerates motor inductances from 25 mH up to 150 mH, so the drive can be paired with long motor leads or high-inductance windings without destabilizing current loops. The unit measures 70 mm wide, 265 mm deep, and 275 mm high and weighs only 4 kg. With these proportions, multiple drives can be mounted side by side on DIN rail while keeping dissipation within enclosure airflow limits.
