The Kollmorgen S60100 is part of the S600 Servo Drives series and supports a voltage range of 230 to 480 Volts with a current rating of 1 Ampere rms. This servo drive provides enclosure protection rated at IP20 and features both internal and external brake resistors of 66 Ohms and 33 Ohms respectively. It has a typical noise emission of 45 dB(A) and a rated installed load of 1 kVA.
Internal Product Review
The S60100 is a Kollmorgen S600 servo drive designed for 230...480V operation. IP20 protection and a rated installed load of 1 kVA give the drive a practical balance of cabinet compatibility and useful capacity. Low 45 dB(A) noise emission is a strong advantage for refined servo drive performance.

Product Description:
The S60100 servo drive is produced by Kollmorgen and belongs to the S600 Servo Drives series. This unit sits between the plant’s three-phase mains and a synchronous servo motor, modulating voltage and current so that position, speed, and torque follow commands from the machine controller. By combining rapid current loops with integrated braking-energy handling, it supports the precise motion sequences required in pick-and-place robots, packaging lines, and light machine tools.
Input power flexibility comes from a three-phase range of 230 to 480 V, allowing the drive to operate in low- or high-voltage cabinets without a transformer. The control electronics are energized by an auxiliary supply of 24 V DC, isolating the logic circuits from the power stage. Continuous motor phase current is limited to 1 A rms, and the unit supports an installed load of 1 kVA suited to small-frame servo motors. The housing carries an IP20 rating, so the drive must be mounted inside a closed panel. A residual output drop of 5 V, a 10 V common-mode limit, and an input-to-ground resistance of 20 kΩ help protect the feedback hardware. The current form factor is 1.01 for near-sinusoidal waveforms, while noise emission remains at 45 dB(A) to limit sound inside the enclosure.
The power stage dissipates 30 W at rated current and only 15 W when the drive is in quiescent mode, allowing panel cooling capacity to be selected with minimal additional margin. The S60100 works with load inductances ranging from 25 mH to 150 mH, enabling stable current regulation with both low-reactance and highly inductive motor windings. Regenerated energy is initially absorbed by an internal 66 Ω brake resistor. If the operating cycle exceeds the capacity of the internal resistor, an external 33 Ω resistor can be connected to the dedicated terminals. Residual power is continuously dissipated through the braking circuit, helping keep the bus voltage within safe operating limits without mechanical relays.
