The drive supports continuous power output of 0.55 kVA at 165 VDC and 1.1 kVA at 325 VDC, and weighs 2.85 kilograms.
Internal Product Review
The S600300-550 is a Kollmorgen S600 servo drive with 3 A rms continuous current and 6 A rms peak current. A 62.5 µs current controller cycle and 250 µs position controller cycle give motion systems crisp, well-tuned response. Low 37 W heat dissipation adds installation appeal, and 1.1 kVA continuous power at 325 VDC is a standout capability.

Product Description:
The S600300-550 is an S600 Servo Drive produced by Kollmorgen for use in multi-axis automation where compact drives feed permanent-magnet motors from a common DC bus. As a member of the S600 Servo Drives series, this unit regulates torque, velocity, or position while exchanging high-speed command data with the machine controller through standardized fieldbus interfaces. It closes the motor control loop internally and provides gated PWM power stages so that rotary or linear servomotors follow precise motion profiles in packaging, electronics assembly, and material-handling equipment.
The drive delivers a continuous output of 3 A rms and tolerates transient demands up to 6 A rms, allowing headroom for acceleration without oversizing the supply. At 325 VDC on the DC link, it sustains 1.1 kVA of apparent output power, while operation at 165 VDC limits continuous output power to 0.55 kVA and accommodates low-voltage systems. The PWM stage switches at 16 kHz, while a 32 kHz current-ripple frequency minimizes audible noise and motor heating. Inside the digital control core, the current loop refreshes every 62.5 µs and the position loop refreshes every 250 µs, providing a fast dynamic response. The drive dissipates 37 W at rated current, so cabinet airflow requirements remain moderate. An incremental encoder channel accepts feedback frequencies up to 1.5 MHz, supporting high-resolution scales without losing edge integrity. The front panel measures 70 mm in width, enabling high-density rack layouts, and a dedicated 8 V logic rail draws 1.1 A to power encoder electronics and I/O.
Protective limits are built into the drive. The overvoltage threshold is 430 VDC, the undervoltage cutoff is 90 VDC, and thermal shutdown activates at 118 °C. These protective trips safeguard the IGBTs and control logic against abnormal supply conditions or cooling faults. The enclosure weighs 2.85 kg, allowing installation on suitable cabinet doors without additional bracing.
