Product Description:
The PRD-0063100z-00 interface card is produced by Kollmorgen for the S600 Servo Drives series. It attaches to the drive backplane and provides additional field-side terminals so a motion controller can monitor and influence machine states in real time. Inside an automation cell, the card distributes low-level control signals and separates them from the power stage. This arrangement simplifies wiring between sensors, actuators, and the servo amplifier while reducing the possibility of signal interference from power circuits.
The card accepts a supply ranging from 230–480 V and regulates the field section to a stable 24 V rail. This rail can source a maximum of 500 mA for proximity switches and optical sensors. The card provides 14 digital inputs for collecting state information from limit switches, emergency stops, or encoders without multiplexing. Optocoupler isolation protects the drive logic from ground loops and places minimal electrical load on the connected sensors. An address time of 4 ms supports rapid polling over the S600 bus. A 4 AT fused line protects the supply, while a 12-pin MiniCombicon header provides a compact, removable connection for field wiring.
During startup, the module applies a maximum start delay of 2 ms before it begins scanning the input channels. It also provides 8 sourcing digital outputs that can send enable or fault signals to relays, indicator lights, and other control devices. Output transitions settle within 10 ms, allowing the signals to operate with common plant PLC scan cycles. Communication with the drive rack uses a shielded data cable with a maximum distance of 50 m when 22 × 0.5 mm² conductors are installed. Each input channel draws only 7 mA, which minimizes demand on the sensor power supply. The low-voltage supply connection uses 2 × 1 mm² cabling, and the optocoupler barrier maintains galvanic isolation across all signal connections.
