The 0190-A2463 is an input/output expansion module manufactured by Kollmorgen for the S600 Servo Drives series. It mounts beside the drive and provides additional logic-level channels so motion axes can accept machine permissives, send status flags, and coordinate with upstream controllers. The board operates from the 24 VDC control supply that feeds the servo drive. Every channel is optically isolated through optocouplers to block conducted noise between external devices and the internal signal processor, which helps maintain reliable communication in electrically noisy machinery.
Field wiring terminates on two 12-pin Mini Combicon connectors, which accommodate the required 2 × 1 mm² supply leads and 22 × 0.5 mm² ribbon-style data cable. The board provides 14 digital inputs with an actuation current of 7 mA and 8 digital outputs that switch the common field rail. All circuitry uses a nominal control voltage of 24 V, allowing direct integration with standard industrial control circuits. The sourcing stages can deliver a shared load of up to 500 mA without exceeding their thermal limits. Downstream protection is provided by a 4 AT time-lag external fuse installed in the supply branch. This fuse clears short-circuit faults while permitting brief inrush events during startup.
Sequence timing is configured for fast machine cycles. The controller accepts a new address within 4 ms, and the start command reaches the drive within 2 ms. Output transistors respond within 10 ms, supporting predictable transitions between controller commands and connected field devices. Deterministic operation is maintained across distributed nodes connected by a data cable with a maximum length of 50 m. The outputs reproduce the field supply potential, so connected devices can receive their switching voltage without separate signal converters. These electrical and timing characteristics allow the module to exchange permissive, status, and sequencing signals with the drive while keeping external field circuits isolated from its internal processing electronics.
