The S403AM-SE is one of the SERVOSTAR 400 digital servo amplifiers. This line of drives for automation are meant to control servomotors, asynchronous motors or linear motors and are able to control up to 8 axes with a single system. A SERVOSTAR 400 system may be composed of a Master Modules and up to 7 Axis Modules that may be mounted in at the master side. The S403AM-SE is a Master Module and has 2 main purposes: control the motor attached to it and convert the power supply and share the DC bus with the connected Axis Modules. The configuration of all the Axis Modules is carried out at the same time and the parametrization is held within the Master Module of the SERVOSTAR 400 rack.
The S403AM-SE runs on a 115 or 230 V AC Power Supply (both monophase and triphase power supply is allowed) and has a rated current of 3 A (RMS) and a peak current of 9 A. This device provides the user an integrated SERCOS fieldbus communication interface, that may be used to control the drive, connecting it to external motion controllers. The module is also presented with a Pulse/Direction interface that may be used to carry out Electronic Gear Master/Slave operations.
