Product Description:
The SE20200-000000 is a digital servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen for the S200 Servo Drives series. Intended for midrange motion axes, the drive rectifies incoming AC power, modulates it through an insulated-gate transistor bridge, and delivers regulated current to a compatible servomotor. Integrated high-speed encoder interfaces provide the feedback needed to close precise position and velocity loops. These capabilities make the device suitable for pick-and-place stations, packaging actuators, and coordinated multi-axis machines that require responsive motor control.
During continuous operation, the amplifier supplies up to 20 A RMS to the motor windings, while transient moves can be supported by a peak current of 40 A RMS. Pulse-width modulation switches at 8 kHz, and the resulting motor current ripple is internally limited to keep motor torque smooth. A front-end rectifier and DC link allow the unit to process an apparent power of 7.2 kVA without derating. The output waveform maintains a form factor of no more than 1.01, helping the connected motor operate efficiently. For feedback processing, the encoder port accepts differential signals at frequencies up to 3 MHz. It also provides a 5 VDC supply rated at 250 mA, supporting accurate feedback acquisition and fine commutation resolution during demanding motion cycles.
The drive’s protection system trips at 430 VDC if the DC bus voltage rises excessively. It also trips at 90 °C if the heat sink reaches an unsafe temperature, helping prevent damage to the power semiconductors. Under normal operating conditions, the drive dissipates 240 W of heat, which should be considered when determining cabinet airflow and ventilation requirements. The rated output delivered to the mechanical load is 8.68 kW. Startup protection includes a 255 VDC undervoltage trip for the bus, preventing operation when the available voltage is too low. An auxiliary 8 V rail supplies 1.1 A to the internal logic circuits, supporting the control electronics independently of the main motor output stage.
