Product Description:
The S22460-VTS is a servo drive produced by Kollmorgen as part of the S200 Servo Drives series. It is intended to regulate brushless servomotors in industrial automation where precise velocity or torque control is required. By modulating three-phase power to the motor windings, the unit converts AC line energy into controlled electrical output that maintains commanded speed or shaft torque under changing load conditions.
The drive delivers a continuous output of 8000 W when supplied from a 240 VAC three-phase line. Its inverter stage can sustain 24 ARMS of continuous current and tolerate up to 48 ARMS of peak current for rapid acceleration demands. A peak apparent power rating of 16000 VA indicates the short-term energy the drive can transfer to the motor without exceeding thermal limits. The 120/240 VAC for all current ratings input allows installation on either single-phase or three-phase utility services commonly found in machinery panels. Velocity and torque modes are selectable, so the same hardware can operate in speed or current control. Feedback support includes SFD, Halls, and incremental devices, while optional SynqNet or CAN cards extend compatibility to EnDat 2.1 encoders, sine encoders, and Comcoder formats. With no additional electrical option installed, the base model keeps the electrical layout simple in compact cabinets.
The upstream supply must be capable of 250 kVA to cover worst-case regeneration and inrush. For compact enclosures, the drive has a depth of 192 mm, a width of 96.4 mm, and a height of 213 mm, and the manufacturer recommends 19 mm of clearance above and below the unit for airflow. Shipping and mounting are simplified by a mass of 2.56 kg. During continuous duty at 3000 rpm and 40 °C, a matched motor can deliver 4000 W of mechanical shaft power. SynqNet and CAN option cards fit into an internal slot without changing the exterior dimensions.
