Product Description:
Industrial motion control has changed since the introduction of Kollmorgen high performance servo drives. The Kollmorgen S200 drives are designed to be interfaced with low power applications without compromising on performance. The S200 series of drives provides many control options in a small size. The S21260-SRS is a compact brushless servo drive designed and manufactured by Kollmorgen. The drive is ideal for use in industrial applications such as medical, semiconductor fabrication, packaging, electronic assembly, among others. The S21260-SRS is part of the S200 servo drives manufactured by Kollmorgen. When interfaced with Kollmorgen servo motors, S200 drives provide a comprehensive servo control solution. The drive has a continuous current rating of 12 ARMS and a peak current rating of 18 ARMS. For the voltage, the S21260-SRS supports an input voltage of either 120 Volts AC or 240 Volts AC at all currents. The drive features a pre-installed SynqNet option card with standard RJ connectors.
At an ambient temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, the drive has a continuous current convection rating of 12.0 ARMS and 8.0 ARMS at a surrounding temperature of 50 degrees Celsius. The drive’s pear output power for one second is 10000 VA at a voltage of 240 Volts AC supplied from a 3 phase power source and 8000 VA at 240 Volts supplied from a single phase power source. The S21260-SRS supports an AC line with a maximum voltage of 250 kiloVolts Amperes. Note that S200 drives have a maximum velocity loop bandwidth of up to 800 Hertz and a 24-bit high resolution feedback.
Frequently Asked Questions about S21260-SRS:
Q: What type of industrial motor encoder design is supported by the S21260-SRS?
A: The S21260-SRS only supports SFD motor feedback design. If you are using the SFD motor feedback no further configuration is needed. However if you wan to use SinCos or Comcoder as motor feedback, you much use the AUXFB(j14) connector which is not available on the unit drive.
Q: Is it necessary to install the S21260-SRS into a control cabinet?
A: The enclosure of the S21260-SRS only protects the drive unit from large solid substances. For complete protection, the drive unit should be installed into additional cabinet.
Q: Can the S21260-SRS be used with a transformer?
A: The S21260-SRS drive unit is designed to be capable of direct line operation. All units are fullt asolated and do not require external isolation tranformers.
Q: Why is the bus capacitance in the S21260-SRS needed?
A: The bus capacitance in the S21260-SRS is needed to absorb energy during motor deceleration and motor disable. The bus capacitance also helps provide energy to the motor during acceleration. It is recommeded that the capacitance is increased according to the number od drive units.
Q: How can the customer support of Kollmorgen be contacted in the case of unexpected damage to S21260-SRS?
A: The documentation supplied with the S21260-SRS drive unit contains the contact information of Kolllmergent Customer service in various areas of the world. In the case of an unexpected machine error or request for repair operations.
