The S21260-CNS is an AC servo drive built by Kollmorgen for the S200 Servo Drives series. It regulates current and voltage supplied to a brushless servo motor so position and velocity loops in industrial machinery can be closed quickly and repeatably. The unit functions as the power stage between a motion controller and the motor, converting line power to a controlled three-phase output for automated packaging, assembly, and material-handling systems.

The drive accepts a three-phase input of 120/240 VAC at 50/60 Hz and delivers up to 4000 W of continuous mechanical power when wired to a compatible motor. Its power section can sustain 12 ARMS continuous and 30 ARMS peak, so short acceleration bursts do not cause current foldback. The internal DC bus is filtered at 16 kHz, which helps keep torque ripple low at the motor shaft. Motor compatibility spans inductances from 0.9 mH to 45 mH, allowing the same amplifier to run low-inertia or high-inertia loads. The housing measures 76.1 mm wide, 177 mm high, and 152 mm deep, and no additional electrical option board is fitted in this CNS variant. Standard feedback wiring supports SFD/Hall devices, while optional SynqNet cards provide EnDat 2.1 or sine encoder channels, and a CAN card adds SFD/Comcoder support.

The power stage stores 45 J of energy in its bus capacitors, and a protective trip is generated if bus voltage falls below 150 VDC. During rapid indexing, the amplifier can deliver 10000 VA of apparent power for several seconds before reverting to its continuous rating. The assembly weighs 1.33 kg, which supports panel-mount applications where low mass is preferred. In service, it operates as a Position Node with a CANopen interface, so motion commands, status words, and diagnostics are exchanged over the same network that handles higher-level machine control.
