The S20660-CNS servo drive is produced by Kollmorgen and is part of the S200 Servo Drives series. As a compact, panel-mounted unit, it conditions three-phase mains power and delivers controlled DC bus energy to matched Kollmorgen servo motors. In industrial automation, the device functions as an axis amplifier that interprets motion commands from a controller and modulates current so that attached motors follow programmed position, velocity, and torque profiles. Integration is simplified through its built-in CANopen position node mode.
During normal operation, the drive sustains a 2000 W continuous output when fed by a three-phase 240 VAC source. It delivers phase current of 6 ARMS continuous and 18 ARMS peak, with each peak held for 3.0 s. The DC link runs at 320 VDC nominal and suppresses regeneration at 397 VDC. A 120/240 VAC universal mains rating allows installation in panels with either single-phase or three-phase service, while the logic circuits draw only 10 W. Motor windings from 1.5 mH to 75 mH are accepted without series chokes. Feedback options include the SynqNet EnDat 2.1 card, the sine-encoder card, and an SFD/Comcoder CAN module, and all units also recognize SFD/Hall signals.
The power stage can supply a 6000 VA short-term apparent output, while an internal resistor absorbs up to 20 J of regenerated energy before external braking is needed. Switching devices operate at 16 kHz, which helps reduce output ripple that could excite mechanical resonances. The housing measures 175 mm high, 64.0 mm wide, and 131.6 mm deep, and the assembly weighs 0.89 kg. Because the drive appears on CANopen as a position node, axis setup and status reporting can be handled over the same network used for motion commands. The supported motor inductance range allows use with motors that have different electrical time constants.
