Product Description:
The S20630-DLS is a DC-bus servo drive built by Kollmorgen within the S200 Servo Drives series. It converts a fixed low-voltage supply into three-phase output current for controlling brushless servomotors in compact industrial equipment. By regulating torque and speed through closed-loop control, the unit enables precise motion in feeders, indexing tables, and light-duty actuators. Its compact format also supports installations that require several coordinated axes within a limited amount of cabinet space.
Electrical performance is based on a bus rating of 90 VDC. The drive can deliver a continuous motor current of 6 ARMS and a peak current of 18 ARMS for transients lasting no longer than 3 s. A switching stage operating at 31.2 kHz minimizes audible noise while regulating current through motor windings with inductance as low as 0.2 mH. All units recognize SFD or Hall-effect feedback, while optional SynqNet cards add EnDat 2.1 or sine-encoder interfaces. A separate CAN card supports SFD and Comcoder signals. Motor leads made from 18 AWG conductors may extend up to 25 m without exceeding voltage-drop limits. When the drive is connected to a matched motor, the servo shaft can supply 315 W at 3000 rpm.
The housing measures 48.3 mm wide, 152.4 mm high, and 100.8 mm deep, giving it a smaller panel footprint than many 1 hp inverters. It weighs 0.50 kg, allowing multiple axes to mount on standard DIN rails without placing excessive load on cabinet supports. Continuous output capability reaches 500 W, while momentary overloads are supported by a rating of 1500 VA. The power stage is compatible with motors whose inductance does not exceed 15 mH, supporting stable current regulation across the applicable motor range. Internal capacitors connected to the low-impedance bus filter ripple energy during operation. This filtering helps maintain consistent drive behavior when the motor is connected through a long cable run.
