Product Description:
The S20360-SDS is a Kollmorgen motion controller in the S200 Servo Drives series. This servo drive conditions single-phase or three-phase 120/240 VAC input for precise torque and speed control of brushless motors in automated machinery. It connects to plant networks through the SynqNet bus and uses compact Micro-D connectors for both power and feedback terminations, supporting high-density cabinet layouts without dedicated backplanes. It serves as an axis amplifier by modulating DC bus energy to match commanded trajectories while supervising protective functions.
At the power stage, the drive delivers 3 ARMS of continuous current and 9 ARMS of peak current, allowing short-term acceleration without thermal derating. Nominal DC bus potentials are 155 VDC when the mains supply is 120 VAC and 320 VDC on 240 VAC lines; if the bus rises to 407 VDC +5%, an overvoltage fault is generated, while excess regenerative energy is clamped at 397 VDC. The input can be wired for single-phase or three-phase service and must be supplied from sources rated up to 100 kVA. SynqNet messaging, EnDat 2.1 absolute feedback, sine encoder signals, and SFD/Halls support are routed through the installed option card, and the second slot can be populated with a CAN interface for SFD/Comcoder feedback.
The compact enclosure helps simplify physical installation, with a height of 175 mm, a depth of 131.6 mm, and a width of 54.8 mm. The chassis weighs 0.84 kg, which helps when the drive is mounted on DIN rails or in tight panel spaces. The fitted SynqNet option board dissipates 10 W from the internal supply, so cabinet cooling load remains low. Micro-D power and signal connectors are arranged on the same face of the drive as the SynqNet networking and feedback connections, and the separate electrical option slot is left empty to keep airflow clear around the heat sink.
