Product Description:

The S20360-DLS is a servo amplifier produced by Kollmorgen for the S200 Servo Drives series. It accepts 120/240 VAC mains and generates a regulated DC link for closed-loop motion in conveyors, pick-and-place axes, and similar industrial automation hardware. No additional electrical option is installed at the factory, but dedicated slots accommodate a SynqNet card for EnDat 2.1 or sine encoder networks, and a CAN option card supports SFD or Comcoder feedback. This arrangement allows the drive to support different feedback topologies without external converters.

The power stage delivers 3 ARMS continuous and can surge to 9 ARMS peak for acceleration phases, while the mains side draws 5.0 ARMS in normal operation. A bus rated at 320 VDC holds 15.5 J of capacitor energy to smooth regeneration cycles. On power-up, the supply encounters an inrush of 140 A that lasts 1.5 ms, so fusing and contactors must account for this pulse. The drive’s output transistors switch at 20 kHz, which raises control bandwidth and helps keep audible noise low. Suitable motor windings span 2.5 mH to 150 mH, so both low- and high-inductance servomotors can be connected without stability issues. Maximum apparent input load is 100 kVA at full line. Rated output is 900 VA, and the internal shunt uses a bus threshold so excess energy is directed to the resistor instead of the mains.

When the application demands more than nominal power, the drive supplies 1100 W of three-phase output, and short bursts can climb to 3000 VA without derating. A coupled motor running at 3000 rpm can extract 750 W of mechanical shaft work from this available output. During rapid deceleration, the DC link climbs toward 397 VDC; once that level is reached, the selectable regeneration circuitry dissipates the surplus and protects the bus capacitors and external wiring. The drive supports multi-axis machinery that requires quick response and accurate torque delivery.
