By modulating phase current delivered to the motor windings, the drive provides precise torque and speed control for closed-loop motion tasks in industrial automation. The internal power stage is fed from a nominal bus of 90 VDC. This low-voltage design reduces cabinet insulation requirements while still delivering 3 ARMS continuous to the motor. For short accelerations, it can supply 9 ARMS peak, enabling rapid position moves without saturation. The thermal design supports a sustained mechanical output of 250 W, and excess regenerative energy is dissipated through a resistor that can absorb up to 1.5 J per event. Current is switched by a PWM bridge operating at 31.2 kHz, which helps minimize audible noise and improves current-loop bandwidth. System bus loading remains limited by a peak draw of 10 ADC for three seconds, helping protect supplies from overcurrent.
