Product Description:

The S20250-SRS servo drive is produced by Kollmorgen as part of the S200 Servo Drives series. This single-axis unit converts incoming AC line power into a controlled DC bus and pulse-width-modulated output, allowing precise torque, speed, and position control for brushless motors used in packaging, pick-and-place, and light material-handling stations. By integrating motion power electronics with networked communications, the drive forms the intermediary between PLC-level commands and the electromechanical load, enabling repeatable motion profiles within compact control cabinets.

This model is sized for moderate inertia loads on 120 VAC line power. Under continuous duty, it can deliver 350 W of mechanical output while sustaining a phase current of 1.5 ARMS. Short bursts up to the specified minimum peak time of 3.0 seconds raise capacity to 1200 W at a momentary current of 4.5 ARMS. Those currents are drawn from a nominal DC link maintained at 320 VDC, which is derived from an input rated 120 VAC doubler or 240 VAC single-phase. The power stage engages after a 1.25-second power-on delay and includes a 10 W reserve for option-card electronics, keeping thermal dissipation within the 0 to 40 °C operating range.

For system protection, the drive trips on a bus overvoltage of 407 VDC +5% and directs excess energy to its internal shunt until the DC rail falls below the regeneration threshold of 397 VDC. During full-speed deceleration, the unit draws no more than 5 ARMS from the AC line, which helps limit branch-circuit loading. Two standard CAT5 ports expose the SynqNet fieldbus so motion axes can be daisy-chained without repeaters, and the same board provides SFD, sine-encoder, and EnDat 2.1 feedback channels through RJ-style connectors. An additional CAN card supports SFD and Comcoder devices.
