The Kollmorgen S20250-SDS is an S200 Servo Drive with a continuous output power of 350 W and peak output power of 1200 W at 120 Vac. It supports 1.5 ARMS continuous and 4.5 ARMS peak current with a nominal DC bus of 320 VDC. As part of the S200 Servo Drives series, it features a 15-pin female D-Sub aux feedback connector and supports SFD/Halls feedback on all units.
Internal Product Review
The S20250-SDS is a Kollmorgen S200 servo drive built for 120 VAC doubler or 240 VAC single-phase input with a 320 VDC nominal bus. A 1.5 ARMS continuous and 4.5 ARMS peak current rating, sustained for 3.0 s, gives this drive impressive control authority during dynamic moves. SynqNet option card functionality with 3 RS-422 input channels makes this model a strong choice for precise networked servo control.

Product Description:
The S20250-SDS is a servo drive manufactured by Kollmorgen within the S200 Servo Drives series. As a digital amplifier, it regulates torque, velocity, and position for brushless motors used in pick-and-place modules, packaging stations, and other automated axes that require precise motion control. It is intended for closed-loop operation where stable motor response and accurate command tracking are required during repetitive machine cycles.
On a single-phase line supply, this unit can deliver a continuous output of 350 W. Its thermal design allows a sustained phase current of 1.5 A RMS during continuous operation and short bursts up to 4.5 A RMS. For rapid acceleration commands, peak mechanical power reaches 1200 W before the drive returns to its continuous rating. The internal power stage is fed from a nominal 320 VDC bus produced by the rectifier-doubler circuit. The unit has no electrical option, so the standard hardware ships without additional suppression networks or auxiliary relays, and external EMC components can be added when required. Feedback processing is available across the range, and every unit accepts SFD sensors with Hall tracks for motor commutation.
Peak overload is limited to 3.0 s, after which the current foldback routine protects the power devices. Continuous input demand is limited to 5 A RMS, and the doubler circuit also permits operation on a single-phase 120 VAC doubler/240 VAC 1 ph supply without manual jumper changes. The auxiliary feedback port uses a 15-pin female D-Sub connector, while discrete I/O signals exit through a 15-pin male counterpart. Three RS-422 input channels support differential command streams. A SynqNet option card provides EnDat 2.1, sine encoder, and micro-D fieldbus connectors. A separate CAN option card enables SFD/Comcoder communication so the drive can exchange real-time position data with distributed controllers.
