Kollmorgen’s PLATINUM U servomotors are low-profile ServoDisc motors built for motion applications that need compact packaging, fast acceleration, and precise speed control.
The series uses an ironless flat-disc armature design that reduces inertia, eliminates cogging torque, and helps minimize electrical noise during operation. Across the series range, the motors cover continuous torque ratings from 39 to 402 oz-in (27 to 284 N-cm) in round-frame sizes from 4.37 to 7.37 inches in diameter. The series is also available with multiple feedback and braking options, including integral or external tachometers, optical encoders, and fail-safe brakes. These motors are intended for space- and weight-sensitive machine designs where high torsional stiffness and responsive servo performance are important.
