The 502-03963-10R3 is a processor-based controller card produced by Kollmorgen for the PIC900 Drives series. Mounted in the drive rack, it houses the control software that sequences speed, torque, and diagnostic routines required by the associated power modules. The board also provides serial connectivity for operator terminals and permits parameter downloads from supervisory PLCs, allowing the PIC900 package to coordinate motion, fault management, and data reporting in automated assembly, packaging, and material-handling stations.

Its computing core is an 80C186EC microprocessor clocked at 20 MHz, giving deterministic cycle times suited to sub-millisecond speed loops. The onboard, battery-backed static RAM includes 1 Megabyte of maximum expandable program space and 64 K reserved for user variables, so motion routines and recipe data can be stored at the same time. To reduce conducted interference, the design meets EN55011 Class A industrial emission limits, which supports installation in cabinets shared with sensors and communication equipment.
