The Kollmorgen 502-03843-00 is a I/O module. It is compatible with PiC900 systems. The module features 16 inputs. The wiring configurations can be sink or source. The voltage range for these inputs is 14 to 30 Volts DC. The maximum current for these inputs is 7.5 milliamps at 30 Volts DC.  The guaranteed-ON level is 14 Volts DC, and the OFF level is 5 Volts DC. The maximum ON / OFF time delay is 1 millisecond. The input section of the module converts input DC signals to logic levels that the CPU can use. A screw terminal is provided on the module for each input. The 502-03843-00 also features 8 outputs that only work in sink mode. The output section sinks voltage for eight loads from one DC power supply.

The voltage range is 5 to 32 Volts DC. The maximum total output current for the group of 8 outputs is 2 Amps. A screw terminal is provided on the 502-03843-00 module for each output. The logic side power requirements are 30 milliamps at 5 Volts, 7 milliamps per energized input at +5 Volts and 25 milliamps per energized output at +5 Volts. The field side power dissipation at 32 Volts DC is 3.6 Watts for the inputs and 4 Watts for the outputs. Operating temperature for the 502-03843-00 module is 7 to 55 degrees Celsius. Dimensions of the 502-03843-00 are as follows: 12 inches height, 1.6 inches width and 8.4 inches depth. In response to a scan loss, all the outputs on the 502-03843-00 are reset to the OFF state. One LED is provided on the module for each input and output. A DIAG LED on the 502-03843-00 turns on when the self-test is running.
