The PiC 900 is a powerful industrial PC that is used for different types of automation applications. Through its integration of hardware and software components, the system is able to control applications that are suited as per the user specifications. The hardware of the PiC900 consists of a system rack, I/O connections to the application, and hardware modules. The hardware is modular and is easy to configure. This industrial PC can interact with an operator interface device and a computer workstation. The software package of this industrial PC consists of a software module that has been designed using PiCPro. Through PicPro it is possible to control specific applications. The software package also includes the PicProServoPro development tools that are installed on the computer workstation. These tools consist of the Sercos setup, servo setup, and PicPro itself.

The 502-03840-00 is a servo module encoder with this industrial PC. The servo encoder module can contain analog output command channels, encoder input channels, and fast input. When the fast input for each encoder channel is energized, an LED goes on. A diagnostics LED is also provided that lights up when the diagnostic tests are running. This model is used for converting a digital word into an 11 V analog output signal for each of the two channels. The system also latches the counter value at an index or a 24 VDC input event. This model is also used to count pulses from up to three encoders. The system gives its best performance when used in areas where the ambient temperatures are between 7 °C to 55 °C.
