The 502-03676-22 module is a communication and control card manufactured by Kollmorgen for the PIC900 Drives series. When installed in a drive rack, it provides serial connectivity and local processing so that motion parameters, status words, and alarms can be exchanged between the drive bus and a supervisory controller. The board acts as a protocol bridge that supports common industrial automation tasks such as start-stop sequencing, speed updates, and health monitoring. Its local processing also helps the drive system manage communication traffic without depending on constant host intervention for every exchange.

Offering an electrical interface selectable as RS232 or RS422/485, the card can be wired in either point-to-point or multi-drop topologies. Physical dimensions of 1.6 × 12 × 8.4 in let the board slide directly into the PIC900 card cage without exceeding standard panel depth. The layout also leaves room for airflow so that convection cooling remains adequate during continuous duty in enclosed control hardware.
