The Kollmorgen 502-03642-03R3 is an analog I/O module. This module is an input module with 8 channels. Function of this I/O module is to convert an analog input signal to a 12-bit digital word for each of the eight channels. Kollmorgen also provides an analog input module that converts the input signal to 14-bit word: this module has the catalog number 502-04050-00. The 502-03642-03R3 module has a 40-pin card edge connector for termination of field side wiring. The connector has screw terminals. Input sensitivity of the 502-03642-03R3 is software-selectable. The selectable input current ranges are 0 to 20 milliamps and 4 to 20 milliamps. The selectable unipolar voltage ranges include 0 to 10 Volts, 0 to 5 Volts, 0 to 2.5 Volts, 0 to 1.25 Volts, 0 to 1 Volt, 0 to 0.5 Volts, 0 to 0.25 Volts and 0 .125 Volts.

The selectable bipolar voltage ranges for the 502-03642-03R3 are ±10 Volts, ±5 Volts, ±2.5 Volts, ±1.25 Volts, ±1 Volt, ±0.5 Volts, ±0.25 Volts and ±0.125 Volts. The maximum common mode voltage, which is the maximum voltage that can be safely applied between any input terminal and the circuit common is ±40 Volts. The common mode operating voltage is ±11 Volts. The internal current sense resistor has a resistance of 250 Ohms. The filter time constant is software selectable and can be set to 1 millisecond, 10 milliseconds and 100 milliseconds. The 502-03642-03R3 modules draws 112 milliamps at +15 Volts and 120 milliamps at +5 Volts. Operating temperature range for the module is 45 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit.
