Kollmorgen manufactures the 502-03640-02 digital output module for the PIC900 Drives series. This board mounts in a PIC900 rack and furnishes sourcing outputs that switch external devices using the system’s 24 VDC control bus. By translating controller logic into field-level power, the card handles discrete actuation tasks in conveyors, indexing tables, and other industrial automation cells.
The module is powered from a 24 VDC nominal supply yet remains functional anywhere between 5 and 32 VDC. It provides 32 output points arranged as 4 groups of 8. Each group can deliver 2 A per group continuously, while an individual channel is limited to 0.4 A per point. Short bursts up to 2.5 A for 40 ms are permitted every two seconds to absorb inrush on inductive loads. All outputs are 24 VDC sourcing type and are protected by a 3 A, 250 VAC, 5 × 20 mm cartridge fuse mounted on the board. Wiring is completed through a 40-pin card-edge connector that terminates on screw-clamp field blocks, which helps keep field connections organized. Optical isolation separates the logic plane from the field circuit, and the card’s grouping scheme allows common power returns to be distributed in parallel for load segmentation.
