Product Description:
The 502-03549-02R1 is a DC output module produced by Kollmorgen for the PIC900 Drives series. Installed in a PIC900 rack, the board supplies DC source outputs that let the drive energize solenoids, lamps, or small relays in an automation cell. Optical logic isolation prevents noise or ground shifts on the field side from propagating into the controller circuitry. Commands from the rack logic control the field devices through solid-state switching rather than mechanical output contacts.
With 16 sourcing points divided into four identical groups, the module distributes load current across the board. Each group can conduct up to 2 A continuously, while a single channel is limited to 0.75 A continuously. For inrush conditions, the solid-state switches can withstand 5 A for 40 ms before returning to their steady-state rating. The grouped arrangement prevents the entire output load from being concentrated in a single current path. Typical energization occurs within 30 µs, and de-energization is completed in less than 300 µs. A 1.6 VDC drop across the device at the rated load represents the on-state voltage, while leakage remains below 0.5 mA when the channel is off. The solid-state design supports frequent operation in repetitive machine sequences without relying on moving contacts.
Field power is supplied externally and may range from 5 VDC to 32 VDC, with a recommended operating level of 24 VDC for standard industrial controls. Using an external field supply keeps load power separate from rack power and allows connected devices to operate at the selected field voltage. Protection is provided by a user-replaceable 3 A, 250 VAC, 5 × 20 mm fuse that interrupts a fault before semiconductor damage occurs. All terminations are made through a 25-pin card-edge connector tied to screw terminals, keeping field conductors accessible without requiring direct solder connections to the board.
