Product Description:
The PRD-PB210E0z-00 is a DC-supplied servo drive produced by Kollmorgen within the PD Servostar Servo Drives series. It conditions low-voltage bus power for brushless servomotors and closes the velocity and position loops required in automated pick-and-place stations, small gantries, and mobile platforms. By combining power electronics with onboard signal processing, the unit forms a compact control layer between a motion controller and the motor. Position information is returned through a sine encoder feedback channel, which provides the drive with the signals needed for closed-loop motion control.
This model accepts an analog command range of ±10 VDC. The input is digitized at 14-bit resolution, providing 16,384 discrete torque references for precise low-speed adjustments. A bus range of 16–56 VDC allows the drive to operate from battery strings or regulated power supplies, while the analog command interface simplifies wiring in multi-axis systems. Continuous motor excitation is supported at 10 Arms per phase at 45 °C, and short load surges can be handled at 20 Arms per phase for 0.5 seconds before the current limiter intervenes. The control stage modulates the output with a 16 kHz pulse-width modulation carrier to reduce audible noise. Fixed undervoltage and overvoltage protection helps keep the MOSFET bridge within its safe operating range.
The nominal DC-link voltage is 24 VDC. The drive has a continuous input power of 256 W and can deliver up to 240 W of shaft power under steady thermal conditions. An internal sensor activates an overtemperature trip at 80 °C, protecting the power electronics when the operating temperature becomes excessive. A replaceable 30 A line fuse protects the upstream bus against excessive current. The aluminum chassis measures 140 × 108 × 51 mm, allowing installation behind machine guarding where mounting space is limited. Separate protection circuits remove the gate-drive signal when the supply falls below the permitted operating boundary, preventing uncontrolled output from the power stage.
