Product Description:
Kollmorgen manufactures the PRD-CE10560z-A2, also known as the ServoStar PD servo drive. This high-performance drive is for torque, velocity and position control modes. It has a nominal bus voltage of 24 VDC to 80 VDC so that it can work with various power supplies. The drive is compact with dimensions of 4.1 in. x 4.25 in. x 2 in,. so it can fit in tight spaces. The ServoStar PD has many position control options. These are ±10 VDC analog command, encoder following for precise synchronization, pulse/direction control for simple motion tasks, and SERCOS interface for high-speed, deterministic communication in complex automation systems. This wide range of control options makes the ServoStar PD very adaptable to different application requirements.
The ServoStar PD comes in standard packages of 5 and 10 amps of continuous current to fit different power needs. At 24V input, the drive has 6 Amps continuous current. For dynamic loads, it can handle 25 Amps for 500 and 12.5 amps for 2 seconds to protect during acceleration and deceleration. The drive has a 3-phase input voltage of 230V and a 2 HP rating. Line fuses should be selected at 15 amps to protect the drive from overcurrent. Logic input power is 22-27VDC. The drive has a built-in protection mechanism, an under-voltage trip at 16VDC and an over-voltage trip at 56VDC to protect the drive and connected equipment from voltage fluctuation. A maximum surge current of 30 amps and a maximum charge time of 0.25 seconds also help in the drive's robust design. At 24V input and 45°C ambient temp, the drive has 0.13 KVA continuous power.
The ServoStar PD uses Danaher Motion Kollmorgen’s MOTIONLINK software for Windows to configure and control the drive. MOTIONLINK allows users to adjust drive parameters, optimize motion control and diagnose system behavior. This software is a key tool to get the most out of the drive and to integrate it into the overall automation system. The drive’s compatibility with different control techniques, interfaces and user tools makes it suitable for many motion control applications. It can work in torque, velocity and position modes, and with many communication options, it’s a very versatile solution. The ServoStar PD has been tested and approved, UL/cUL 508C certified for the US and Canada.
