Product Description:
The PRD-AMPE25Ez-01 is a Kollmorgen servo drive in the PD Servostar Servo Drives series. The unit conditions DC control power and high-current outputs to govern matched brushless motors in automated machinery. By converting logic-level enable commands into phase-coordinated current, it supports the velocity and position loops handled by an upstream motion controller. The drive serves as the power stage within an industrial automation axis, supplying the controlled motor current required for commanded movement.
Its internal capacitor bank reaches full charge in 0.25 s, allowing rapid power-up after cabinet switching. The drive provides 3 optically isolated digital inputs for functions such as remote enable, reset, or mode selection. Status signaling is provided through 1 digital output that can be mapped to drive-ready or alarm states. The fault relay transitions from an energized state to a safe state in 3 ms and restores operation in 2 ms. These short reaction times reduce the period during which an uncontrolled motor could coast after a fault. The available command and status channels support coordinated start, stop, reset, and monitoring functions in indexing conveyors and small gantries.
The fault relay is rated to switch 1 A, permitting direct interlocking with light-duty safety circuits without an additional contactor. The control electronics accept a supply range from 22 VDC to 27 VDC, so common 24-volt power buses can feed the drive while tolerating regulator drift and cable voltage drops. During startup or rapid deceleration, the power stage can withstand a surge of 30 A, accommodating the short-duration overload demands of fractional-kilowatt servomotors. The drive trips when its internal temperature reaches 80 °C and can operate continuously at ambient temperatures up to 45 °C. It may be stored at temperatures up to 70 °C without damage. The housing weighs 0.55 kg and is compact enough for installation on a DIN rail within a control cabinet.
