Product Description:
The CR06561 servo amplifier is produced by Kollmorgen within the PD Servostar Servo Drives series. It converts DC bus energy into precisely modulated phase currents, enabling closed-loop motion control for brushless servomotors in automated machinery. By coordinating with higher-level controllers, the drive maintains torque, speed, and position commands across the dynamic ranges required in industrial processes.
It communicates with the machine control layer through the SERCOS fiber-optic interface, a deterministic bus that carries setpoints and status in real time. During continuous operation, the power stage delivers 6 Arms, while acceleration bursts are supported by 18 Arms for up to 500 ms; these limits represent the thermal and magnetic loading accepted by the connected motor. Pulse-width modulation is clocked at 8 kHz, a switching rate selected to minimize audible noise and smooth the output waveform. Rotor position is returned by a resolver, allowing the drive to calculate commutation angles even in the presence of electrical noise. The control electronics draw an external logic supply of 1.5 A continuously and 2.6 A during surges. The housing has a depth of 244.0 mm and fits standard control cabinets without spacers.
Protective functions trip the DC link above 430 VDC or below 90 VDC, preventing component stress and unintended motion. The logic circuits are powered by 24 VDC supplied from the control panel. Thermal modeling anticipates a power dissipation of 80 W at rated load, and panel airflow must remove the resulting heat. The unit has a height of 256.0 mm, a width of 83.3 mm, and a mass of 2.22 kg, allowing dense installation in a control cabinet. The fault relay contact is rated for 1 A, providing a direct means of signaling drive errors to safety relays or PLC inputs.
