The 0090-A7151 is a compact DC-bus servo amplifier manufactured by Kollmorgen for the PD Servostar Servo Drives series. It regulates torque and velocity for low-voltage brushless or brushed motors in automated tooling, pick-and-place axes, and small conveyors. By translating motion commands into modulated current, the unit forms the link between a motion controller and a 24-volt bus, giving machines closed-loop positioning without adding bulk to the control cabinet.
During continuous operation, the drive supplies 5 A RMS to the motor, and it can deliver a momentary peak of 10 A RMS to overcome acceleration loads. Those current limits are controlled by a pulse-width modulation stage that switches at 16 kHz, which helps keep audible noise low and reduce torque ripple. Electrical energy from the DC rail is converted into controlled motor power with a rated output of 120 W, while the input section draws 128 W at full load. A charge time of 0.25 seconds lets the internal capacitors reach their working voltage rapidly after power-on, so the axis can be enabled with minimal delay. An overtemperature cutoff at 80 °C helps protect the semiconductors when airflow is insufficient. For rapid deceleration events, the design tolerates a surge current of 30 A without latching a fault.
