The NSM3412 is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen within the NSM Brushless Servo Motors series. It is designed for position and velocity control in packaging lines, pick-and-place units, and other automated stations. The unit converts drive current into precise rotary motion that can be tightly regulated by a compatible servo amplifier, allowing the connected axis to follow commanded movement profiles under changing loads.
The motor delivers a continuous stall torque of 1.6 Nm, allowing machinery to maintain a load without motion under steady current. During dynamic operation, peak torque rises to 4.1 Nm for short bursts of acceleration. A maximum continuous speed of 5500 rpm establishes the highest rated shaft velocity before thermal derating begins, while friction torque is limited to 0.035 Nm so small command signals can overcome internal drag. The phase-to-phase resistance is 2.7 Ω, and the inductance is 8.6 mH; these electrical values affect current ripple and drive tuning. The sine torque constant is 0.34 Nm/A, while the voltage constant of 40 V/krpm indicates the back electromotive force produced as motor speed increases.
