Product Description:

The M.1300.3502 servo motor is built by Kollmorgen within the NSM Brushless Servo Motors series. It is a brushless, permanent-magnet unit intended to drive precision axes in industrial automation, providing controlled rotation for pick-and-place mechanisms, indexing tables, and similar equipment. Electronic commutation and integrated feedback allow the motor to connect directly to modern servo amplifiers for closed-loop performance. Its compact frame fits into space-restricted machinery while supplying the mechanical power required for demanding production cycles.

The motor delivers a continuous shaft torque of 6.0 Nm, enabling steady operation under rated load. For rapid acceleration, it can generate up to 17.0 Nm without exceeding its thermal limits. When driven from a bus of 230 V, the windings support mechanical speeds up to 3000 rpm. A sine-wave torque constant of 0.63 Nm/A relates phase current to the torque produced by the motor, while a 77 V/krpm back EMF constant keeps the required drive voltage within standard ranges. Static drag is limited to 0.11 Nm of friction torque. The winding resistance is 1.23 Ω, which affects copper loss during each duty cycle.

An integrated holding brake engages at 24 VDC to secure the shaft when power is removed, which is important for vertical axes and emergency stops. Position feedback is supplied by a quadrature encoder with a resolution of 2000 lines. The encoder produces TTL signals through a 26LS31 line driver and operates from a 5 VDC rail that can supply up to 300 mA. Thermal performance is characterized by a junction-to-ambient resistance of 0.70 °C/W, so cabinet airflow or heat sinking can be sized to maintain safe winding temperatures. At higher frequencies, a phase inductance of 7.0 mH filters PWM switching edges and helps keep current ripple and audible noise low.
