The M.1015.6957 brushless servo motor is produced by Kollmorgen within the NSM Brushless Servo Motors series. Designed for closed-loop industrial axes, the unit converts electrical energy into precise rotational motion for tasks such as indexing tables, linear actuators, and packaging spindles. It employs rare-earth magnets and a stator winding optimized for low-inertia response, making it suitable for dynamic positioning where accuracy and speed must be maintained under changing load profiles.
At a continuous shaft rating of 1.5 Nm, the motor can supply steady torque without exceeding its thermal limit, while a peak capacity of 4.1 Nm is available for short acceleration bursts. The electromagnetic design provides a back electromotive force constant of 41 V/krpm, which indicates how the required drive voltage increases with motor speed. With a torque constant of 0.34 Nm/A, each ampere of phase current produces proportional torque, simplifying current-mode control loops. The maximum mechanical speed reaches 3600 rpm, enabling rapid cycle times when the motor is paired with appropriate gearing. A rotor inertia of 0.00015 kg·m² supports quick reversals, while the bearings accommodate a radial load of up to 28 kg at 3000 rpm.
