The MTC328B1-R1D1 is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen and supplied within the MTC Servo Motors series. It is engineered to provide closed-loop torque and speed control on automated axes such as pick-and-place heads, indexing tables, and packaging spindles, where stable feedback is needed for repeatable motion. This makes it suitable for applications that alternate between precise positioning and steady running. A 24 VDC spring-applied brake is integrated so the load can be held when system power is removed, making the motor suitable for vertical loads or controlled stopping points where the axis must remain in position without a separate holding device.
During continuous operation, the winding draws 3.65 ARMS and produces a rated mechanical output of 1.18 kW. At zero speed, the rotor resists load with a stall torque of 4.70 N·m at 25 °C, while short transients can reach a peak torque of 18.68 N·m without demagnetizing the permanent magnets. The three-phase inductance is 35 mH, so current rise is inherently filtered and the drive current loop is less abrupt during starts and rapid speed changes.
