The MTB506B1-F1A1 is a brushless servo motor manufactured by Kollmorgen for the MTC Servo Motors series. As a rotary actuator, it converts controlled electrical energy into precise angular motion, allowing CNC machines, packaging lines, and robotic axes to position loads quickly and repeatably. The unit integrates an electromechanical brake and high-resolution feedback so the drive can hold or adjust the shaft position in response to dynamic process commands in industrial automation cells. Its standard square flange simplifies integration with compatible gearboxes and couplings.
The rated mechanical output is 2.8 kW at a nominal speed of 3300 rpm. At 40 °C, the stator can sustain 11.4 N·m of continuous torque while drawing 16.7 A RMS from a 230 VAC drive. The electromagnetic design produces a back electromotive force of 41.4 VRMS/krpm, which the controller uses to predict voltage demand during acceleration. The winding resistance is 0.371 Ω, allowing current to rise quickly while remaining within the drive transistor limits. Position data come from an 8192 PPR incremental encoder, supporting tight velocity control. The motor uses a 130 mm square IEC flange with a 19 mm shaft and a 6 mm square key.
