Product Description:
The MT1502A1-E2D1 is a frameless brushless servo motor segment produced by Kollmorgen within the MTC Servo Motors series. The rotor and stator integrate directly into a machine axis, allowing the unit to provide closed-loop torque and velocity control without gear reduction. This configuration supports direct electromagnetic actuation for pick-and-place heads, indexing tables, and other precision automation stages.
The motor delivers a continuous stall torque of 0.438 N-m while dissipating the heat generated by 2.21 ARMS of line current through its copper windings and laminations. At its rated operating point, the rotor can maintain 6000 rpm, which is also the maximum permissible speed. Under that condition, the power transferred to the load reaches 0.23 kW. A torque sensitivity of 0.202 N-m/ARMS allows the drive to calculate commanded current accurately. A back-electromotive-force constant of 12.2 VRMS/krpm indicates the voltage feedback that the controller must accommodate during regeneration. Current dynamics are shaped by a line-to-line inductance of 13.2 mH and a DC resistance of 6.85 ohms. Eight magnetic poles provide fine torque granularity across the entire speed range.
For short bursts, the motor can reach a peak torque of 1.25 N-m when the amplifier supplies a peak line current of 7.2 ARMS. The insulation withstands up to 250 VRMS between phases, allowing the motor to operate with high-voltage servo drives. The laminated rotor has an inertia of 0.0000127 kg·m², supporting fast acceleration and helping damp minor load disturbances. Thermal resistance from the windings to the ambient environment is 1.33 °C/W. The winding has a thermal time constant of 12 min, allowing short overloads before its temperature approaches the applicable thermal limits.
