MSM215-505-304-M-2KA is a Kollmorgen servo motor. It is equipped with a high-resolution multiturn encoder for feedback. Closed loop control systems with feedback are required by applications that place a premium on accuracy and precision. MSM motors work in combination with a servo drive that supplies AC power and controls motor speed and shaft position. The main shaft on the MSM215-505-304-M-2KA motor includes a keyway. A 24 Volts DC optional holding brake is installed on the motor. This brake is designed to allow the shaft to rotate only after it receives a signal from the servo drive. The motor has a flange with holes for mounting screws. Size of the flange is 190 millimeters and length of the motor is 511 millimeters. The motor has separate connectors for power and feedback.
The minimum size of the motor power cable must be AWG 8. The MSM215-505-304-M-2KA motor is designed for 460 Volts AC input. Its DC bus voltage is 650 Volts DC.
