The MSM165-93-204-E2-2KA is a brushless servo motor built by Kollmorgen for the MSM Brushless Servo Motors series. The unit has a 460 V stator winding and a factory-mounted 24 V DC holding brake for high-duty industrial positioning tasks. Its rotary design supports controlled motion in automated assembly stations, packaging modules, and material-handling gantries. An integrated incremental encoder provides 2,000 lines of feedback, allowing the connected drive to track changes in shaft position and regulate position, velocity, and torque. Because the encoder is incremental, the control system must establish a reference position after startup when the application requires an absolute machine position.
During sustained operation, the motor delivers a continuous torque of 10.5 Nm at its rated speed of 2000 rpm. The electromagnetic assembly can produce a peak torque of 34 Nm during acceleration and other short dynamic events. At peak output, the motor can draw up to 24.0 A peak from the connected drive.
