Product Description:
The MSM100-6-602-E2-0KA is a brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the MSM Brushless Servo Motors series. This unit serves as a rotary actuator for positioning and velocity loops in automated machinery where compact frame dimensions and moderate torque are required. It connects to Kollmorgen drives through a dedicated feedback plug and supplies rotary feedback so the controller can close the motion loop with minimal following error during high-speed indexing.
The motor develops a continuous output torque of 6 in-lb, enabling moderate load acceleration without oversizing the drive. During operation, it maintains a rated speed of 6000 rpm, which supports fast-cycle equipment such as pick-and-place heads and light conveyors. The windings belong to the 200 V voltage class, so the motor pairs directly with standard low-voltage servo amplifiers on 230 V mains. A square frame width of 100 mm aligns the mounting holes with common IEC footprints, simplifying installation in compatible machine frames. Rotor position is measured by an incremental encoder that provides 2000 lines per revolution; the resulting 8,000 post-quadrature counts provide fine resolution for smooth low-speed control and precise registration moves.
This model is supplied with no brake, which keeps inertia low for rapid deceleration but requires the machine to hold position through drive torque or an external locking device. The bearings can accept a maximum radial force of 34 kg at 6000 rpm, so belt tension and pulley loads must remain within that limit to prevent premature wear. Feedback and power conductors terminate on a 17-pin circular connector, providing a compact cable interface for the motor. The shaft is machined with an M5 × 0.8 mm thread at the end for puller attachments. Its keyed profile secures couplings against slipping, while the 12.5 mm thread depth helps protect the internal assembly from excessive clamping force.
