In industrial automation, it is installed in control cabinets to deliver precise torque, speed, and positioning for machinery such as pick-and-place robots, feeders, and indexing tables.
The drive can deliver 3.6 kVA of continuous power from a 325 VDC bus and supplies a nominal phase current of 10 A RMS. For short accelerations, it can produce a peak current of 20 A RMS. Pulse-width modulation is generated at 16 kHz, a switching rate that minimizes motor ripple while limiting switching losses. The inner current loop refreshes every 62.5 µs, allowing tight torque control, while the velocity and position loops update every 250 µs and 500 µs, respectively, to maintain commanded trajectories. Commutation data arrives through an encoder interface, and a remote encoder input has an impedance of 100 Ω for differential signals. Control wiring draws up to 20 mA per digital input.
