Product Description:
The M-605-B-99-265 is an AC brushless servo motor produced by Kollmorgen for the M Goldline Servo Motors series. Intended for mid-frame industrial axes, it connects to a digital drive to deliver accurate torque and velocity control in packaging, converting, and pick-and-place machinery. The three-phase stator and rare-earth rotor support sinusoidal commutation over a wide speed range, providing a compact actuator for repetitive positioning tasks in automated cells.
The motor develops a rated shaft speed of 3150 rpm while producing 23.34 N·m of rated torque, which corresponds to a continuous mechanical output of 7.7 kW. A back electromotive force constant of 65.9 Vrms/krpm matches the winding to high-bus-voltage drives, and the continuous line current requirement is 27.7 Arms. Under steady thermal conditions at 40 °C, the stator can sustain 30.1 N·m without exceeding its temperature limits. Electrical characteristics include a DC resistance of 0.234 Ω, which governs copper loss, and a phase inductance of 6.3 mH, which filters ripple from pulse-width modulation switching. The windings accept up to 250 Vrms line to line, and each ampere of RMS current produces 1.09 N·m of torque. Heat flows from the housing to the surrounding air through a thermal resistance of 0.28 °C/W, and the winding reaches thermal equilibrium in 33 minutes.
For rapid indexing, the motor can deliver a peak torque of 87.7 N·m when supplied with up to 84.8 Arms by the amplifier. This transient output, combined with a rotor inertia of 0.0141 kg·m², permits theoretical acceleration rates of 6240 rad/s² and supports short movement and settling profiles. The low rotor inertia also reduces the energy required from the drive during rapid reversals, helping the motor respond quickly to changing position commands.
